Denver Sluice lock exit downstream

This is at low tide. A current (2006) problem with the short tidal stretch from here to Salter's Lode, entry to the Middle Level, is that recent dry winters have prevented the EA from using storm water to scour away the silt. This has restricted access at Salter's Lode, so that at best there's only a narrow window at the top of the tide when you can go in or out, and some weeks, there's no access at all. It's to be hoped that this winter (06/07) will have made a difference in view of the IWA National at St Ives this summer.
