These are some shots I took of the brickwork on the outside of Barnton Tunnel. One of the ventilators (the eastern one) seems in good nick, but the other has some alarming gaps around the bricks.

The parapet over the western portal is also in poor condition, and had been vandalised the night before the photos were taken.

In November 2005, BW rated the condition of this tunnel as 'C - fair'
